Winefest Memories
Tuesday, June 30th, 2009I just wanted to post a few pics from this year’s Pennsylvania Wine & Food Festival. It was our first year as food vendors and .. despite the downpour that accompanies every Sauced event .. we had an incredible weekend! Our menu included a beef and fresh mozzarella au jus sandwich with a roasted garlic aioli and, for all those veggie friends we have out there, a mushroom and brie panini with arugula pesto and white truffle. YUM! It was definitely a risk, creating a non-carnival-themed menu, but it absolutely paid off. Our tent brought something new to the Winefest .. and it was a hit! Just ask that guy who came back for a THIRD sammy

Dine Indie Tonight

After a week of lousy dinners, offered up by a dizzying number of chain restaurants surrounding our hotel, Phil and I finally smartened up and logged on to DineIndie.com for some (seriously overdue) dining assistance. Dine Indie is an incredible web resource for finding out where the locals eat .. and the team never lets us down!
Phil and I only had two requirements for last night’s dining experience: The restaurant had to be within 20 minutes of our hotel and it had to serve something SPICY! Dine Indie directed us to Moritomo, a local Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi Bar, and our night couldn’t have started out on a better note. We were parked outside Moritomo within 15 minutes of leaving the hotel and chowing down on Wasabi Shumai and something they call “The Fireball” before we even tasted our wine. It was truly the perfect ending to our crazy 12-hour day on set. Thanks Dine Indie!
